With almost a a hundred years of history, Rede A Gazeta is the main news corporation in the state of Espirito Santo, 400km north of Rio, Brazil. In 2019 the printed Gazeta daily newspaper ceased to circulate and launched a new website.
Agency Cases Associats–Sol361 (Barcelona) took the project of redesigning the whole online news portal.
Our goal was to refresh the visual identity of A Gazeta, by giving it a modern, cleaner, functional look to keep the readers engaged. Priority was given to build a strong, stable modular system that could deliver across all digital platforms. Good use of typography was key on constructing these design elements that would repeat and adapt to the different screen formats.
Visual content was also emphasized by introducing full screen photo and video galleries or page openers. A limited use of color helped to convey the brand identity across the whole portal but also to give some sections their own personality.
